Updated August 20, 2018 12:51:17Samsung will release its next Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones at a later date, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The report, citing an unidentified Samsung executive, said the company plans to release phones in mid-2018.
It was not immediately clear when the Galaxy S9 would arrive, although we understand the Samsung executive is referring to the rumored Galaxy S10.
The report also said that Samsung will not release its flagship S10 at the same time as the Galaxy Note 8, which was previously rumored to arrive at the end of August.
Samsung had previously said it would launch its Galaxy S11 at the beginning of 2019.
It was not clear when that would happen, but it would mark the company’s third launch in less than three years.
The Samsung Galaxy S7, which launched in March 2018, had a 3-inch display and a 5.7-inch curved screen.
The company also introduced the Galaxy X7, a 4.8-inch screen and a curved screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio.
The company had earlier announced a new version of its Galaxy Note series that it said would launch in 2019.
